- Registered in the Oregon Central Background Registry
- Child Abuse and Neglect Certificate & Intro to Health and Safety
- First/CPR Infant, Child and Adult Certified
- Food Handlers Card
- Meet education or Step requirement to have a step level 8 in the registry or higher.
- Must meet state guidelines for subdirector and head teacher.
- Graduated High School or GED
- Previous 2 years’ experience with children in a licensed childcare center required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Consistent attendance and punctuality are required and are vital to providing quality care and building strong relationships with the children in our care.
Center Leadership: Reflect love, nurture and care toward children & their families in a safe and welcoming classroom environment. Use creative and engaging teaching methods to enhance learning. Foster children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. taking into account all children's social, cultural and linguistic diversity. Including but not limited to: learning styles, abilities, disabilities, gender, family circumstances or geographic location.
- Coaching and Development: ability to provide guidance and feedback to help others strengthen specific knowledge/skill areas.
- Mentoring and Training: Provide guidance and professional development to assistant teachers and staff in implementing behavior management techniques and classroom strategies while maintaining an inclusive atmosphere.
- Systems and Software: proficient level knowledge of Microsoft Office software, Paychex flex, Brightwheel applications and online teaching tools
- Supervise opening and closing of the center.
- Professionally complete assigned office tasks, answer phones, emails, and parent communications.
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom i.e., sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, laundry, dishes, taking out trash and other center cleaning responsibilities.
- Ability to have flexible work hours/work shift may change.
- State continuing education requirements.
- Responsible for Teaching in classroom and room responsibilities.
- Supervising other teachers’ lesson plans.
- Supervising and keeping a safe environment for all children in care.
- Reflect love, nurture and care toward children, staff, and families.
- Reflect motivation, enthusiasm, take initiative and be a selfstarter.
- Comprehend and complete oral and written instructions prepared for the day and execute routine classroom activities, including curriculum, serving meals and potty training.
- Maintain an environment of nurture, active learning, fun play and works with students to reinforce learning objectives.
- Teach students of various backgrounds, ages 6 weeks12 years and various developmental needs.
- Exercise good independent judgment in the best interest of the children, within a variety of situations, including emergencies. Implement the center's beliefs and values, including discipline approaches.
- Communicate well with primary teacher, assistants, and parents. Learn and implement center policies and procedures including state and federal mandates.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Able to stand for long periods of time, lift 40 lbs, and able to kneel & climb.
