Inmate Supervisor (Maintenance Technician)

Position Summary : The Inmate Supervisor (Maintenance Technician) responsible for leading crews in executing projects according to plans, standard procedures, and maintenance schedules. The focus is on ensuring the safety and efficiency of the County's properties, including rights of way, facilities, grounds, and infrastructure. The role involves overseeing semi-skilled construction, maintenance, modification, and repair tasks, as well as providing daily supervision to work crews. Specifically, the position involves supervising and coordinating inmate work crews for repairing and maintaining roadways, parks, and open spaces across various departments. Applicants must possess the necessary training, skills, and ability to supervise work release inmates.
Responsibilities :
- Monitoring crews to ensure standard operating procedures are being adhered to and participating in the work supervised.
- Operate various ground keeping, construction and maintenance equipment as required in performance of job function.
- Assists in repairs and maintenance of the County's streets, rights-of-way, storm sewer system, sidewalks, and equipment.
- Modifying work methods, crew sizes and related factors to ensure that work is completed in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Enforces safety regulations, coordinates equipment maintenance and repair activities.
- Assists in maintenance, repair and construction activities as required.
- Operate various heavy equipment associated with State Highway department operations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
