Company Overview : Our client is seeking a Head Start / GSRP teacher who will be responsible for ensuring a safe, nurturing, high-quality educational environment for program children and families.
Position Summary : The successful candidate shall have at least 4 years of full-time ASL interpretation services for related projects.

Position Responsibilities
Set up and maintain a safe, healthy, developmentally appropriate learning environment.
Complete and execute daily lesson plans based on individual children's needs that include all aspects of the High / Scope daily routine.
Maintain program documentation on children and families.
Support and encourage parent involvement through parent day activities, field trips, volunteer opportunities, conferences and home visits.
Document and communicate children's progress through the use of the Child Observation Record (COR).
Administer, score and communicate results of the developmental assessment within 45 days of each child entering the program.
Observe and document children's activities and interactions through anecdotal notes.
Work and communicate effectively as part of a team environment.
Prepare, serve, clean up and document meals, as necessary.
Document any contributions to the classroom, (food, money, etc.).
Attend meetings and program functions, assigned.
Follow all Board of Education and Policy Council policies, local, state and federal guidelines, laws and regulations.
Provides support to other positions as required.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Head Start / GSRP Director or designee.
Complete High / Scope training within the first school year of employment.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field, Child Development Associate (CDA), or commitment to obtain CDA credential within one year of hire required
Experience working with young children in a GSRP classroom setting for more than 3 years.
Necessary Attributes
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field.
Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Knowledge, skill and ability in the use of MS Office Suite and e-mail.
