Paving Laborer
Job Type : Full-time
Salary : From $16.00 per hour
Schedule :
8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
Ability to commute / relocate : Tampa, FL : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
Company Overview : Our client has an exciting opportunity for a Paving Laborer with successful and progressive experience in performing various manual tasks associated with paving operations.
Position Summary : The successful candidate shall have a minimum of 1 years of experience as a Paving Laborer.
Responsibilities :
Develop and implement a safe work environment
Maintain a safe workplace and ensure best practices
Developing and executing safety plans
Comply with company policies while following safety practices and procedures
Must be on site at the scheduled start time for the Daily Huddle and Tool Box Talk
Must be able to identify potential hazards and assist in maintaining a safe work environment for all Team Members
Maintain a flexible work schedule to include day / night shift work with extended hours
Able to climb ladders maintaining a 3-point contact
Can perform strenuous work in varying weather conditions
Able to effectively shovel and lute asphalt and push a wheelbarrow
Assist with layout of project and marking of roadway structures
Establish and maintain positive relationship with all Team Members and supervisors
Able to operate a tack wagon
Assist with MOT set up and flagging operations
Assist in the loading and unloading of tools and equipment
Assist in the backing of dump trucks in a safe manner
Be sure assigned equipment is always properly maintained and kept clean
Assist in daily project inspection prior to departing, to ensure work is complete with the highest quality and all cleanup is complete
Requirements
Qualifications :
Safety and quality orientated
Maintain good health status and flexibility to bend, push, pull, stoop and / or twist
Ability to multi-task; detail-oriented
Necessary Attributes :
Must possess the ability to adapt to different personalities and management styles
Team player and with strong interpersonal and verbal skills
