CNC Operator
Summary Of Position
The CNC Operator is responsible for the timely and accurate production of metallic machined parts per the specifications and requirements of the shop traveler. The CNC Operator is also responsible for error-free processing of each order, and for completing the necessary paperwork and computer data entries associated with the CNC Production Process.
Responsibilities and Duties
As a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the CNC Operator. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.
- Operate, maintain, clean, setup, load, and unload the CNC mills, lathes, and routers
- Effectively and efficiently carry out production process
- Regularly clean and maintain equipment
- Troubleshoot CNC mills, lathes, and routers
- Understand Sunshine Metals’ objectives and mission
- Adhere to all Sunshine Metals’ safety rules, regulations, quality standards and procedures
- Crosstrain other team members as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of CNC mill, lathe, and/or router operating experience
- Ability to measure using different tools
- Proficient reading and math skills
- Good organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks
- Operate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers
Preferred Qualifications
- Four years’ experience in CNC mill, lathe, and/or router operating
- Mastercam experience
Physical Requirements can include but not limited to
- Sitting & standing and use of hands & fingers
- Kneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Balancing/Bending/Climbing
- Close vision (sharp vision at 36 inches or less)
Weights to be lifted/pushed/pulled: Up to 50 pounds—With assistance and/or of a lifting device
