Join Our Team as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Or RN at Sunshine Pediatric Day Center!
Sunshine Pediatric Day Center is seeking compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) or RN to provide exceptional nursing care to medically complex pediatric children. Working under the supervision of our Director of Nursing (D.O.N.), you'll play a key role in meeting the medical, developmental, and social needs of our young patients in a supportive, facility-based environment.
Your Role:
- Provide skilled nursing services, including g-tube feeding, oxygen therapy, and range of motion exercises
- Administer medications (oral, intra-, or subcutaneous) and monitor patient reactions
- Record daily treatments, nursing notes, and progress reports accurately
- Monitor patient activities and provide personal care, such as bathing, oral hygiene, diapering, and dressing
- Record and monitor vital signs, reporting any changes in condition to the RN supervisor
- Assist with mobility, including repositioning, ambulating, and wheelchair transfers
- Support rehabilitation programs focused on developing social and daily living skills
- Assist patients during meals and provide feeding support as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing housekeeping duties, including changing beds and spot cleaning
- Accompany children during non-emergency and emergency transportation as directed
- Transcribe and report physician orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Provide emergency assistance when needed
- Participate in required in-service training and maintain up-to-date certifications
What We're Looking For:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school for practical/vocational nursing
- Licensure: Current Texas LVN License
- Experience: 2 years in pediatric nursing
- Certification: Current CPR certification
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and position patients up to 35 lbs
- Ability to respond to the physical demands of mobility assistance, behavior management, and safety measures
