Job Summary
The Donor Relations Coordinator will be a vital contributor to Sunshine School & Development Center’s development team and will ensure the integrity of data collection as it relates to donors, volunteers, community partners, and staff members. This team member will be the primary resource for data-driven information used to establish departmental goals and measure outcomes, manage grant reporting, and forecast philanthropic trends. All members of the Philanthropy team are responsible for meeting annual campaign and department goals.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
Essential duties
- Curate all donor related data to be utilized by the Development Department for the following purposes: Donor communication, interaction, and outreach. Statistical information as required for grant and funding applications and reports. Trend analysis
- Develop and implement tools and processes that promote donor recognition, engaging agency board, philanthropy, and program staff members.
- Generate detailed weekly fundraising reports, to be used by the team, for making informed program decisions.
- Administer the life cycle for receiving gifts and contributions: Solicitation, Data entry, Acknowledgement, Receipt
- Build donor relationships through attending meetings, luncheons, zooms, marketing, and events.
- Coordinate and manage volunteer recruitment, training, scheduling, and engagement to ensure effective support for school tasks, programs and events.
Other duties
- Assess and interpret current market conditions and other factors which affect the business climate.
- Monitor public fundraising sites to ensure that agency information is current and accurate
- Work occasional evenings and weekends for events and donor tours.
- 12 hours of annual training (not including First Aide & CPR)
- Other duties as assigned, as they pertain to the overall success of the agency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required or 3 years of fundraising experience required.
- Possess superior communication skills - written, verbal and interpersonal - to build relationships with donors.
- Effective organizational and multitasking skills
- Familiarity with InDesign/Canva and GiveSmart or comparable design/donor database system, preferred.
- Relevant experience in non-profit fundraising, marketing, relationship management, or related fields.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office 365 programs and tools.
- Knowledge of and strong commitment to accepted fundraising policies, standards, and values, and the AFP (Association of Fundraising Professionals) Code of Ethics, preferred.
- Background clearance from the Central Registries for Child and Adult Abuse and Maltreatment.
- Background clearance from the Arkansas State Police.
- Pass a drug screen.
- Physical requirements – Must be able to: Communicate accurately and effectively with individuals and groups. Frequently move about within the office setting and the community at large. Frequently operate a computer, printer, camera, and electronic communication devices. Often work more than 40 hours per week and weekends.
