Successful, fast-paced personal injury & property law firm in search of a litigation paralegal with at least 3-4 years of experience. Paralegal must be proficient with Microsoft Office, Excel & Outlook.
In this role you will work closely with a Lead Litigation Attorney and will play a crucial role in providing legal support and expertise within our law firm and our team. This position requires someone who is a self-starter with a solid foundation in personal injury & first party property law to effectively assist clients and contribute to the success of our practice. Bilingual/Spanish is Preferred.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, including preparing legal documents, pleadings, motions affidavits, complaints, legal memoranda and correspondence
- Sending and tracking letters to clients
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information to support case preparation
- Organizing notices and letters for depositions and/or mediations
- Assist with other tasks as requested by the attorney or case staff
- Communicate professionally with team members, clients, opposing counsel, judicial employees/clerk, and other legal professionals
- Filing motions for extension of time if required
- Calendar and meet deadlines
- Duties include but are not limited to, document processing; court filing; preparation of general pleadings, notices, subpoenas, correspondence and hearing and trial exhibits; assisting attorneys with hearing and trial preparation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 3-4 years related experience or equivalent
- Proficient in using document management systems and electronic filing systems
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Able to excel in a fast-paced work environment, take direction and work with little supervision
- Familiar with legal terminology, court proceeding and drafting pleadings, discovery, and legal documents
- Excellent grammatical and spelling skills
- Proficient on Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
- Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels
- Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
- Attention to detail is a must
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
