Quality Systems Manager
Job Overview: Sunstar Engineering Americas (SEA), a highly successfully manufacturer of automotive adhesives, sealants, and coating products, is seeking an experienced individual to join our Quality team. A strong skill set, coupled with experience, is required for planning, implementing and overseeing our quality assurance programs.
Essential Duties
- Work closely with departments and teams to understand their processes and requirements. Assist in developing systems for process improvements including but not limited to procedures, work instructions, required documentation.
- Execute procedure and policy change training, as needed.
- Participate in internal and external audits (i.e., corporate, customer or third-party); ensure that all corrective actions identified in audits are addressed, processed, verified, and maintained.
- As necessary, participate in supplier and co-manufacturer audits.
- As necessary, assist or conduct investigations / internal audits and root cause analyses of critical and major Quality incidents.
- Provide technical interpretation, guidance, and expertise for relevant quality standards. Demonstrate the ability to vet customer quality requirements for sustainability, suitability and if it can be integrated into current QMS.
- Manage the ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification programs.
- Monitor and advise on the performance/effectiveness of the QMS, measuring against set indicators.
- Develop and lead training sessions to ensure the integrity and application of the QMS.
- Ensure that projects comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with all interested parties’ environmental regulations and standards.
- Work closely with senior management to integrate sustainability considerations into the overall business strategy.
- Align sustainability goals with the company’s goals and objectives.
- Analyze project performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
- Collect, organize, and track key quality and process metrics generated from the QMS. Assist departments in the development of meaningful and actionable metrics.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the project management team.
- Evaluate project management processes and identify opportunities for enhancement, implementing best practices to drive efficiency.
- Support and promote continuous improvement initiatives through auditing and developing effective corrective/preventive action systems.
Requirements:
- ISO9001 Certified Lead Auditor
- Full execution of Quality Management Systems with 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
- Superior organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work effectively with individuals in different situations.
- Proven teambuilding and leadership skills.
- Able to work with technical, sales and management staff.
- Willing to travel domestically or internationally.
- Able to work occasionally in a manufacturing plant environment (dusty, dirty and can be warm in the summer heat).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred:
· Associate or bachelor’s degree with 5-10 years of industry experience.
· Working knowledge of IATF 16949 standards.
· Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
