JOB SUMMARY:
Under direction of appropriate management or Lead, responsible for the installation, modification, preventive maintenance and repair of plant production and facility electrical equipment.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Working from engineering drawings, schematics, or verbal instructions, installs, relocates, or modifies plant electrical equipment including motors, conduit, power and control wiring, switchgear, lighting, etc., in conformance with applicable state and local codes.
- Troubleshoots, diagnoses, reports on, and corrects electrical equipment and system malfunctions.
- Performs designated preventive maintenance program on plant electrical equipment.
- Overhauls electrical equipment including magnetic starters, relays, and bearings, seals, and armature replacements in motors, etc.
- Fabricates and assembles maintenance parts and new equipment, utilizing hand tools, such as drill press, power saw, sheet metal shear and brake, and electrical test equipment.
- Performs installation, maintenance, repair, or other work on electrical and related systems as directed.
- Performs adjustments, set-ups, repairs, data entry, and calibrations of scales, checkweighers, metal detectors, label machines, and package coding devices.
- Assists in training and instructing Maintenance Electricians or other designated personnel in equipment installation, modification, adjustment or overhaul operations.
- May operate forklift on a limited basis.
- Completes records as necessary, including daily checklist prior to operating forklift.
- Maintains fuel, oil and water in forklift.
- Responsible for ensuring safe working conditions and safe work practices in assigned area.
- Must be able to work overtime.
- Keeps work areas clean and orderly using common cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 75 pounds.
- Performs other duties relating to the overall effort as directed.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate.
- Must pass limited forklift certification.
- Must complete appropriate orientation/training programs including ARC Flash Training
