Continuous Improvement Manager

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for leading initiatives to improve operational efficiency, productivity, cost, safety and quality across the organization. This role involves implementing TPM processes, Lean Manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other process improvement strategies to drive sustainable improvements in performance and profitability.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES

1. Identify and eliminate process inefficiencies throughout the operational processes.
2. Develop and implement strategies to reduce waste, minimize downtime, and increase productivity across all areas of the plant.
3. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to identify and resolve equipment performance issues, ensuring maximum uptime and reliability.
4. Analyze production data to identify trends and inefficiencies in areas such as yield, throughput, waste, and energy usage.
5. Establish and maintain dashboards and KPIs to track the success of improvement initiatives.
6. Conduct regular audits to ensure production processes are aligned with improvement goals.
7. Develop and document standardized work processes, including SOPs and work instructions, to ensure consistency in operations.
8. Oversee change management for the implementation of new processes or equipment.
9. Lead projects focused on reducing water usage, energy consumption, and waste generation throughout the operational processes.
10. Partner with procurement and operations teams to optimize raw material utilization and packaging efficiency.
11. Train and mentor employees at all levels on TPM, Lean and Six Sigma principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
12. Facilitate brainstorming sessions and workshops to gather ideas from frontline employees.
13. Serve as a change agent, inspiring and engaging employees to embrace and sustain process improvements.
14. Partner with the Safety team to reduce and illuminate safety injuries and incidents through root cause problem solving.
15. Partner with Quality Assurance to drive root cause analysis and corrective action efforts for quality-related issues.
16. Develop and execute cost-saving initiatives to optimize production expenses, including labor, materials, and utilities.
17. Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to identify cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality.
18. Oversee multiple improvement projects simultaneously, ensuring timely and successful execution.
19. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align improvement initiatives with business goals.
20. Prepare detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets for leadership review.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge/Skills: 

• Strong understanding of Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and root cause analysis tools.
• Proficient in data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to: 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex manufacturing issues.
• Lead, coach and influence cross-functional teams effectively.
• Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment

Education and Experience: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in a continuous improvement, operations, or manufacturing role.

Physical/Safety Requirements: 

• Ambient noise is louder than a traditional office setting.
• Work in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to noise, machinery, and potential tripping hazards.
• Ability to tolerate long periods standing
• Ability to work any shifts and schedule
