Job Title: Payroll Clerk
Reports to: Payroll Supervisor
Job Summary:
The Payroll Clerk is responsible for managing employee payroll functions and company travel arrangements to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage travel arrangements, including securing hotel accommodations, negotiating corporate rates, and establishing direct billing agreements to streamline processes and control costs.
- Process employee travel reimbursements weekly
- Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Work with HR to maintain and update Payroll records
- Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes
- Maintain and protect employees/payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Prepare relevant daily, monthly, quarterly, year-end and ad hoc reports as requested
- Communicate and interact with various department managers for any missed time entries
- Manage and process various employee deductions and garnishments.
- Respond to payroll questions and employee inquiries
- Analyze and resolve Payroll discrepancies
- Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related results as needed
- Promote Suntec's core principles to cultivate a collaborative, accountable work culture and create an ESOP mindset that emphasizes ownership, teamwork, and long-term investment.
Qualifications:
- 2 years previous payroll experience preferably in a construction environment.
- Must be extremely detail oriented and accurate.
- Must have excellent time management skills
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Must be able to adapt to changing tasks quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
- Bi-lingual (Spanish fluency) preferred
