Structural Engineer / Designer

Reports to : Director of Engineering Services

Job Summary :

The structural Engineer / Designer is responsible for designing, analyzing, and overseeing the construction of structural systems for a variety of projects. You will collaborate closely with architects, contractors, and project stakeholders to ensure the structural integrity, safety, and functionality of building designs. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with a strong technical foundation, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform gravity and lateral calculations for concrete building elements, including the design of post-tensioned and mild reinforced slabs, concrete columns, shear walls, moment frames, minor steel framing (e.g., canopies and elevator supports), and reinforced concrete tilt panel walls.
• Review and redline drawings to ensure they align accurately with structural calculations and design intent, providing clear, precise, and actionable feedback for revisions.
• Draw details for specific project conditions.
• Participate in coordination meetings with the project team.
• Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractors, architects, or project stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in addressing questions or issues related to the design, calculations, or construction drawings.
• Review shop drawings submitted by contractors to ensure they comply with the project’s design intent, structural calculations, and specifications.
• Conduct project site visits as needed to observe and assess construction progress and ensure compliance with design intent and structural specifications.
• Promote Suntec's core principles to cultivate a collaborative, accountable work culture and create an ESOP mindset that emphasizes ownership, teamwork, and long-term investment.
