Position Overview:
PEEC is a safety-first company, where your personal safety, and that of your team, is taken seriously. All journeyman electricians at PEEC are expected to have a mindset centered on the safety of the task at hand, and to instill that mindset in the apprentices with whom you work. The ideal candidate must be experienced in different kinds of electrical devices and systems with solar equipment and distribution experience being a major plus. The goal will be to produce and maintain well-functioning electrical distribution, equipment and connections to minimize the probability of accidents and maximize the usability of electricity in all facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electrical Wiring Design and Installation: Executing plans for electrical wiring in commercial, residential, and solar systems.
- Circuit Connectivity and Installation: Connecting wiring in electrical circuits, preparing conduits, and terminating cables to equipment and distribution panels.
- Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Performing infrared scans, troubleshooting, and repairing or replacing damaged units.
- Tool Proficiency and Blueprint Interpretation: Using electrical and hand tools and interpreting electrical drawings and blueprints.
- Mentorship and Skill Development: Providing guidance and training to Apprentice Electricians, applying knowledge of NEC standards.
- Preconstruction Support: Assisting the project management team with estimating, workflow planning, and material needs.
- Field Equipment Issue Resolution: Working with manufacturers to resolve equipment issues on-site.
- Testing and Reporting: Conducting voltage and ohm testing, recording results, and ensuring accurate documentation.
- Project Management Software Utilization: Using software for daily logs, blueprints, and communication with the project team.
- Equipment and Material Transportation: Transporting tools, materials, and equipment to the work site.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Ability to pass Basic Skills Test and Drug Screen.
- Proven, documented experience and training to qualify as a journeyman electrician.
- Strong understanding of NEC codes, with an emphasis on residential and commercial PV installations.
- Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned tasks (up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with assistance).
- Basic math skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficient with power and hand tools.
- Ability to work in extreme environments (hot sun, cold, rain, crawl spaces, etc.).
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance, with a dependable form of transportation.
- Must be willing and able to climb ladders, work on rooftops, lift, bend, push, pull, squat, and work on your feet for long periods of time.

The compensation range for this role reflects the broad array of factors considered in making compensation decisions. These factors include, but are not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, licensure, and certifications, as well as other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the geographic differential associated with the location where the position may be filled. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $45-49/hour. At PEEC, it is uncommon for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, as compensation decisions are tailored to the specifics of each case.
