What are the responsibilities and job description for the Saratoga Lab Coordinator position at SUNY Adirondack?
Broad Function
Maintain the Saratoga Branch Campus science lab areas in support of biology, chemistry, microbiology and anatomy/physiology instructional offerings.
Major Responsibilities
- Set up and breakdown of laboratory equipment and supplies for chemistry, biology, microbiology, and anatomy/physiology course work.
- Maintain stockroom and prep room facilities
- Complete purchase orders for laboratory supplies and submit to Science Division Chair for approval, as needed.
- Prepare laboratory sessions for an effective and safe learning environment for the instructor and students.
- Train and supervise of Saratoga student lab workers, as needed
- Manage chemical inventory and maintain laboratory compliance with chemical hygiene requirements, include safety data sheets and required reporting to main campus Chemistry Lab Supervisor.
Required Skills

Educational Requirements
Candidate will have a minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry or Biology (or related field)
Years of Experience
Candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of laboratory experience in chemistry and biology lab preparations
Schedule
Approximately 20 hours per week
Hourly Rate
$25.00
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
Science laboratory setting; Occasional lifting of 5lb-10lb.
