Assistant Professor / Instructor (Clinical Laboratory Technology)

SUNY Broome Community College is seeking candidates for a full-time, 10-month, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor / Instructor in the Clinical Laboratory Technology Department with a willingness to also serve as Program Director. This exciting career comes with an academic work schedule from August to May with time off to enjoy the summer months. Optional opportunities to teach in summer provide for additional earnings. Ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods. Benefits include, but are not limited to : Medical, Dental, and optional Vision and Flexible Benefit Plan.

Requirements :

  • The Assistant Professor position requires a Master's degree in an appropriate field with either three (3) years of teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity. Additional coursework in an appropriate field is desirable.
  • The Instructor position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Individuals with less than a Master's Degree will be given four (4) years to secure an approved Master's Degree. Work experience in an area appropriate to the teaching field strongly preferred.
  • ASCP certification or NYS State Licensure is required. Experience as a Clinical Laboratory Technician / Medical Technologist within a variety of clinical areas preferred.

Assistant Professor / Instructor (Dental Hygiene)

SUNY Broome Community College is seeking candidates for a 10-month, full-time, tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor beginning in Fall 2025 in the Dental Hygiene Department. The ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods. Benefits include, but are not limited to : Medical, Dental, and optional Vision and Flexible Benefit Plan.

Requirements :

  • The Assistant Professor position requires a Master's degree in an appropriate field with either three (3) years of teaching experience or an appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, and scholarly activity. Additional coursework in an appropriate field is desirable.
  • The Instructor position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Individuals with less than a Master's Degree will be given four (4) years to secure an approved Master's Degree. Work experience in an area appropriate to the teaching field strongly preferred.
  • Per CODA requirements, candidates must be dental hygienists who have graduated from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in an appropriate field is required to teach Dental Hygiene, as per the Commission on Dental Hygiene.
  • Candidates must possess New York State Dental Hygiene licensure in Dental Hygiene and Local Infiltration Anesthesia / Nitrous Oxide Analgesia.
  • Within six months of hire, candidates must also have a documented background in current educational methodology concepts consistent with teaching assignments on file with the Program Director.

    Assistant Professor (Nursing)

    SUNY Broome Community College has two (2) full-time, 10-month, tenure track appointment openings for an Assistant Professor in Nursing. This nursing career opportunity comes with an academic work schedule from August to May with time off to enjoy the summer months. The ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods. Benefits include, but are not limited to : Medical, Dental, Retirement, and optional Vision and Flexible Benefit Plan.

    Requirements :

  • Master's degree in Nursing required (current enrollment in a nursing master's degree program will be considered).
  • Must be licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in New York State.
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience or appropriate combination of teaching, relevant work experience, or scholarly activity required.
  • Two (2) years of hospital-based medical / surgical experience desired. Current experience in Medical-Surgical nursing or specialty areas including Psychiatric-Mental Health, Maternal-Newborn and Child Health nursing highly desired.
  • Ability to teach evening class and every other weekend clinical preferred.

    Assistant Professor (Physical Therapist Assistant Department)

    SUNY Broome Community College is seeking candidates for an in-person, full-time, 10-month, tenure-track appointment as an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapist Assistant Department starting in Fall 2025. This faculty opportunity comes with an academic work schedule from August to May with time off to enjoy the summer months. Ten (10) month salary is spread over twelve (12) months to allow for consistent, uninterrupted pay periods. Benefits include, but are not limited to : Medical, Dental, and optional Vision and Flexible Benefit Plan.

    Requirements :

  • An active, unencumbered Physical Therapy license or a Physical Therapist Assistant license / certificate in any United States jurisdiction and compliance with the state practice act in New York is required, per CAPTE standards.
  • A Master's degree in a health-related field from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 3 years of full time (or equivalent) post-licensure clinical experience in physical therapy practice and contemporary expertise in assigned teaching areas is required. (Candidates will be expected to provide documentation to demonstrate that they have met the CAPTE criteria of possessing expertise specific to assigned teaching content.)
  • A minimum of two years of clinical practice as either a site clinical coordinator or clinical instructor in a clinical setting (e.g., as part of employment as a PT / PTA), or experience in teaching, curriculum development, and administration in a physical therapy education program.
