What are the responsibilities and job description for the BSN Nursing Faculty position at SUNY Delhi?
SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward thinking, and engaging Faculty member to join the School of Nursing Online RN-Bachelor of Science Nursing Program, beginning Fall 2025. This faculty position reports to the Associate Dean of Nursing. The candidate will be expected to support SUNY Delhi's and the School of Nursing's mission, vision, and institutional learning outcomes. Also, to implement best practices in online teaching and learning, embrace the use of technology in education, and actively engage in online program development, student progression, retention, and completion activities. This position is fully remote with primarily asynchronous teaching. Program and all other meetings are synchronous and virtual.

Primary responsibilities of faculty members include teaching assigned courses within the RN-BSN program, maintaining regular virtual office hours, participation in assessment of courses and program outcomes, management of student learning, systematic program evaluations, and accreditation protocols.
Teaching Responsibilities
- Teach online courses in accordance with the policies set forth by the College and the online nursing programs.
- Adhere to the College and nursing program's online course management procedures that are consistent with best practices.
- Engage with students using regular and substantive interaction in the online environment.
- Commit to student success, retention, and completion using a variety of teaching strategies.
- Communicate with students using a variety of electronic means, as necessary.
- Assess and evaluate student learning, course outcomes, and program outcomes.
Program Development
- Participate in online trainings in accordance with policies set forth by the College that includes content related to design, platform, online pedagogy, technology safety and security, and all mandatory campus policy education.
- Explore and integrate new teaching strategies and technologies and make recommendations regarding course software, equipment, supplies, and other pedagogical tools.
- Develop and revise online courses in accordance with the policies set forth by the College and Nursing programs.
- Participate in periodic program evaluation consistent with accreditation standards and criteria.
- Participate in annual systematic assessment of the RN-BSN program.
- Serve as Course Coordinator for assigned online courses.
- Function as a mentor, when needed, for new faculty and as a preceptor for graduate students in the MS in Nursing Education program.
Academic & Organization Commitment
- Participate in research-based activities solely or in collaboration with others to include, but are not limited to: conducting clinical/educational research, grant funding applications, and dissemination of findings.
- Serve on nursing program and campus committees as assigned.
- Participate regularly in faculty meetings.
- Participate in accreditation reviews, self-study preparation, and all site visits.
- Engage in academic and professional activities in the college and nursing profession.
- Pursue other scholarly interests solely or in collaboration with others to include, but are not limited to: publications, presentations, manuscript reviews, project and/or program development, etc.
Job Requirements:
- Master's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing graduate program; Doctoral degree preferred.
- Active and unencumbered RN license in NY State.
- A minimum of three years clinical nursing experience.
- Minimum of three years of academic nursing education experience, with at least two years of online teaching experience.
