What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Utilities position at SUNY Delhi?
SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking, and engaging faculty member to join the Electrical Program starting in the Fall 2025 semester (mid-August). The position is in a two-year Associate Degree program that prepares graduates for employment as electricians, instrumentation and controls technicians, renewable energy, and utility operation technicians. Desirable candidates will have credentials to handle a variety of lecture and laboratory courses. SUNY Delhi prides itself on being a welcoming college community for all. Teaching Responsibilities |
- Provide evidence-based instruction following the policies set forth by the College
- Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students
- Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes
- Incorporate student service learning opportunities
Program Development |
- Participate in annual systematic assessment of the program
- Participates in analyzing data and makes recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary
Advisement |
- Provide academic advisement for students
- Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
- Track student's completion and progression requirements
Academic & Organization Commitment |
- Serve on campus committees
- Participate in full and part-time faculty meetings
- Participate in accreditation reviews and reports
- Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college
- Pursue scholarly interests
Job Requirements:
- Associate's Degree* and five years of experience in the electrical field OR High school diploma* and ten years of experience as an electrician.
- Background in utility operations and/or lineman experience
- NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record and willingness to transport students to various educationally related activities using college-owned vehicles, including 12-passenger vans
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Experience in teaching or working with young adults
- Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations
- Understanding the value of civic engagement
- Certifications and/or licensure
Additional Information:
- Salary $45,00-55,000 (commensurate with degree and trade experience)
- This is a 10-month academic year, tenure track position
