The Electrical program offers one-year certificates and two-year associate degrees in Electrical Construction, Instrumentation, Renewable Energy, and Utility Operations.
The Instructional Support Technician (IST) plays a key role in supporting the Electrical Construction faculty by providing technical assistance, instructional support, and overall lab management. The IST is responsible for performing a wide range of duties within the laboratory environment to ensure the quality, safety, and effectiveness of students' educational experiences.
- Assist faculty by supporting instruction through equipment demonstrations and by observing and guiding students as they develop proper laboratory techniques. This support may occur in both indoor and outdoor lab settings (including in cold or windy conditions), as well as during field trips and other off-site learning activities.
- Under the supervision of a designated lead or functional head, manage the care, inventory, repair, maintenance, and distribution of instructional materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain accounting/records for functional materials, supplies, and equipment
- Supervise student assistants who may be assigned to store, maintain, and deliver supplies, materials, and equipment, and provide such instruction as may be appropriate to the successful operation of the function.
- Assist faculty and/or staff with preparing, developing, and presenting instructional and/or classroom and laboratory instruction materials.
- May serve as instructor of record for laboratory courses.
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree in a related field and at least three (3) years of relevant experience OR
- High school diploma* and a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Note: Candidates hired with a high school diploma will be required to obtain an associate's degree after hire (Union assistance with tuition)
- NYS Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- Teaching experience;
- Broad-based knowledge and experience in electrical construction and maintenance, renewable energy, and electrical instrumentation and controls.

- Start date: August 19, 2025
- Work schedule: Full-time (10 months / 2 months off contract during summer)
