Job Summary:
The Department of Community Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time PRODiG Postdoctoral Associate (Promoting Recruitment, Opportunity, Diversity, Inclusion and Growth plus). The successful candidate will:
- Increase the number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Strengthen the pipeline for retention and support of those faculty.
- Contribute to advancing the diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging initiatives of the institution, and will be mentored by a committee of faculty with a proven track record in supporting the career growth of early-stage faculty and an externally funded research program with a focus on health equity.
- Engage in a 2-year fellowship, with a highly competitive salary and with start-up funding to support professional development.

- Engage in advances training, structured mentorship, and the development of professional skills that prepare the fellow for academic positions in public health and associated fields of study.
- Supported by a faculty mentorship committee with a strong history of successful mentorship and independent research funding and will be guided by a co-developed individual development plan (IDP). The primary mentor will provide direct supervision and ongoing support to enhance the fellow's skills in grant-writing, manuscript writing and publication, and professional development.
Required Qualifications:
- Have a PhD or relevant terminal degree from an accredited institution completed prior to start date.
- Demonstrate personal academic and/or work experience engaging with diversity.
