Job Summary:
The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Assistant Director of Nursing, NS32 Labor & Delivery. The successful candidate will:
- Be responsible for the 24/7 clinical and administrative operations for labor delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery.
- Demonstrate accountability for the operations of the department efficiently and effectively.
- Use the analytical nursing process framework to create and maintain an environment that facilitates the delivery of high-quality quality, safe, and compassionate patient care in a healthy, satisfying work environment for staff.
- Coordinate and integrate activities to operationalize the mission and vision of UHD and the nursing department in the patient care areas.
- Demonstrate the ability to collaborate and be flexible to perform other related job duties as required and/or as business need warrants.
Required Qualifications:
- New York State Registered Nurse License.
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
- Master of Science Degree in Nursing or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of active, relevant clinical experience.
- Progressive leadership accomplishment in nursing.
- Current BCLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in both clinical specialty areas and in nursing administration.
- Prior management or leadership experience.
Work Schedule:
Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm (Full-Time)
