Duration: Fall Semester, 8/25/25-12/12/25 (with the possibility of future semesters dependent on campus need)
Brief Description of Duties:
Adjunct pools are open continuously and applicants are contacted/hired year-round for assignments based on college needs. Teaching assignments may include day, evening, on-line, hybrid, weekend, and/or off campus classes.
Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Teaching assigned classes under the supervision of the area division chairs & dean;
Helping students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content;
Assessing student learning outcomes;
Maintaining a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in their regular teaching field;
Continuing professional development;
Utilizing current technology in the performance of job duties;
Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position;
Fulfilling other duties and responsibilities of an adjunct faculty member as outlined in the college faculty handbook.
Currently: SUNY Morrisville seeks candidates for adjunct faculty to teach PSYC 101 (Introduction to Psychology) and PSYC 211 (Lifespan Psychology) for the Fall 2025 semester in a flex format (in-person and online concurrently). Both courses are being offered in a flex format, with in person meetings on the Norwich campus, and some students joining remotely.
Brief Description of Courses:
PSYC 101. Introduction to Psychology. (3 Credits) M/W 3:30pm-4:45
This course includes an introduction to the scientific study of behavior, mental processes, and the influences upon them. It also covers major theories and findings in psychology, including learning, cognition, abnormal psychology, and others.
PSYC 211. Lifespan Development. (3 Credits) T/R 11:00am-12:15
Lifespan Development provides an in-depth study of the biological, cognitive, emotional and social aspects of human growth and development from conception to old age. Special emphasis is placed on contemporary theories including a focus on how research in the field is conducted.
Other courses may include:
Social Psychology and courses related to addiction and the CASAC
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
A Master's degree in psychology or closely related discipline is required.
