DESCRIPTION
Department Description:
The Office Assistant 2 will work primarily in the Library Director's Office.
Job Description:
- Handle day-to-day office duties such as filing and answering phone calls
- Addressing routine building problems including processing work orders and key requests.
- Process requests for rooms located in the library using EMS (Event Management System)
- Coordinate setup of laptop, phone, or other AV needs as requested
- Process and record acquisitions invoices in various excel spreadsheets
- Monitor and maintain supply room inventory
- Maintain bulletin boards in the library
- This position works closely with the Administrative Assistant 2 on tracking budgets that are managed by the Director's Office.
Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate must be reachable on the full-time, permanent Civil Service list for Office Assistant 2, have held the permanent title of Office Assistant 2 in the past or be eligible to transfer into the title.
OR
If the eligible list contains fewer than 3 acceptors, a provisional appointment may be considered. To be eligible for a provisional appointment, you must be eligible for and take the Office Assistant 2 exam the next time it is offered and be reachable for appointment.
Note: This is a NYS classified promotional title. Applicants without applicable NYS classified work experience cannot be considered for the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience in EMS System is a plus
