The On Campus Housing & Residence Life department at SUNY Oneonta is seeking creative and innovative applicants for the position of Resident Life Coordinator to join us in providing a supportive, safe, educational, and engaging residence hall experience for students. Reporting to a member of our leadership team, successful candidates will have a passion to help students succeed in pursuing their university education. Strong administrative skills, an interest in working in a high-impact unit of student affairs, and a work philosophy that knows the importance of developing an inclusive community where sense of belonging is nurtured are expectations of staff. This is a 12-month position which starts at the beginning of August.
The Office of Campus Housing and Residence Life is under the Residential Experience and Housing Department, which also houses offices of Move-In, Orientation and Welcome; as well as the Office of Off Campus and Commuter Students. Our office works closely with many other areas of The University through committee work, collaboration, and resource sharing. We have residence hall special interest housing in areas of Wilderness, Wellness, Gaming, Quiet Study, Transfer Living, First Year Experience and LGBTQIA .

Duties include but are not limited to:
- Serve as live-on staff member that is responsible for emergency management functions of the office/department.
- Assigned to RHD level duty rotation and will be expected to assist during larger campus crisis as support.
- Work with UPD/Facilities and Maintenance to assist with safety and emergency planning.
- Utilize the wellness model to develop health and wellness programs with student staff.
- Supervise a student staff of 6-8 fitness guides.
- Serve as a member of the overall professional staff.
- Support summer operations and planning for the academic year.
- Advise the resident student organization (RSO).

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- Student Housing/Residence Life Experience
- Strong Written and Verbal Communication Skills
- Experience working with diverse groups
- Emergency, crisis or conflict mediation experience
Preferred:
- Spanish Speaking
- Strong Organization Skills
- Ability to independently Work on Projects
- Supervision experience
- Wellness, fitness, health or other similar programming experience
