ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provide guidance and support to department web content editors.
- Review and approve web content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with SUNY Poly's brand and messaging.
- Assist with conducting training sessions and workshops for web content editors on best practices and content management system (CMS) usage.
- Contribute to routine content maintenance of the sunypoly.edu website.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop website content for key initiatives, with the goal of enhancing user engagement and SEO.
- Ensure new content meets ADA and WCAG compliance measures.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Digital Media to produce content for social media platforms and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the Content Communications Specialist to identify and manage messaging shared in internal communications that should be reflected on the website or social media.
- Provide assistance in managing and organizing digital assets
- Other reasonable duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree from college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in digital content creation and web content management.
- Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or similar.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Knowledge of SEO best practices and web analytics.
- Excellent project management and organizational skills; strong attention to detail; enthusiasm for creating engaging content.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively to ensure a campus community of belonging
Preferred:
- Familiarity with graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Canva).
- Basic understanding of HTML and CSS.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital content.
This position is contingent on the satisfactory completion of a background check and may require annual checks.
