What are the responsibilities and job description for the Procurement Assistant - SUNY Polytechnic Institute position at SUNY Polytechnic?
Description of Duties:
Provide commodity and service procurement services for SUNY Poly in accordance with applicable policies, regulations and guidelines. This position will coordinate sourcing and purchasing activities and will complete complex procurement processes.
- Review submitted purchase requisitions related to procuring commodities and services up to designated policy limits, that would include identification of vendors, communications with vendors and campus constituents related to these procurements, the application of SUNY procurement policies and procedures, securing required quotes as required by NYS and SUNY guidelines, that result in the issuance of system generated purchase orders.
- Prepare RFPs, RFQs, and IFB bid packages in accordance with NYS and SUNY guidelines. Review bid responses and award contracts based on award methods. Enter contracts in the SUNY Finance & Management System and obtain all required approvals through contract execution.
- Review and assist staff in completing travel documentation.
- Make purchases using Procurement card and ensure all documentation is collected and maintained.
- Assist and train as needed, academic campus constituents in purchase requisition process, receiving process, bid process, and end user reporting.
- Other duties as assigned.
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000

- Bachelor's degree in Business field and five years of experience OR
- Associate's degree in Business related field and eight years of experience
