SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a full-time Director of College/High School Partnerships. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Director of College/High School Partnerships is responsible for the College in the High School Program and the Smart Scholars academic component. In addition, the Director will be involved in all College/High School (CHS) partnerships and will seek to develop new partnerships. This entails facilitating communication between the high schools and the College; promoting the program by speaking with students, faculty and administrators, identifying new markets and courses; assisting the enrollment of students and student retention; coordinating all faculty reviews. The Director will engage the current SUNY Schenectady faculty with the high school faculty to ensure consistency in curriculum. The Director will ensure that the academic quality of the program is maintained while seeking to expand the program. The Director will be responsible for oversight of the academic SUNY Schenectady curriculum component of the Smart Scholars program and will work with the high school faculty and the SUNY Schenectady Deans to prepare and oversee the academic plan for the Smart Scholar's students. The Director is responsible for securing and updating all high school articulations. The incumbent has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Project Director for College and High School Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Meet with schools to discuss and promote potential class offerings and partnership opportunities
Develop the CHS schedule
Review CHS faculty credentials with Division Deans
Coordinate planned curriculum development within the high school by collaborating with Deans and high school faculty and program leaders
Maintain a communication plan with the administrators, faculty and students to include application packets, syllabi and course outlines, textbooks, final exams, student information packets, etc.
Prepare and facilitate MOU's
Organize collaborative professional development opportunities for CHS adjuncts
Pursue and organize faculty liaison relationships for the CHS instructors/facilitate observations/provide and collect feedback forms/organize and update tracking system on completed site visits and feedback to instructors, prepare processing for SUNY Schenectady faculty reimbursement.
Maintain annual data for the program.
Conduct annual survey on credit transferability
Conduct and analyze other annual surveys on rotating basis.
Meet with guidance departments and principals of each school district
Attend NACEP conferences, attend NY-CEP biannual meetings, and attend NACEP board meetings as directed.
Work with the Deans to ensure that assessment activities are taking place.
Secure and maintain high school articulations
Promote CHS programs to prospective schools, faculty parents, and students.
Ensure quality and reputation of the CHS program.
In collaboration with Director of Marketing, prepare quality materials to promote the programs.
Requires travel to local high schools
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree
At least one (1) year of supervisory experience
Experience in program oversight
Experience working with faculty at the high school and/or college level
Experience in the assessment of programs
Experience working with students who require academic interventions
Demonstrated understanding of concurrent enrollment practices and issues
Demonstrated awareness of Early College
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Thorough understanding of the community college mission
Willingness to work occasional nights/weekends, as needed
