Adjunct – Spanish Language and Culture (PT)

Job Summary:

SUNY Sullivan is accepting applications for a part-time, adjunct faculty position to teach Spanish I and Spanish II.

The individual must possess the ability to teach seated, online, and hybrid.

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy and a culture of belonging.

Required Qualifications:

· Master's degree in Spanish or related field

· At least three (3) years of teaching or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

· Ph.D in Spanish or related field

· Experience working in higher education environment

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Teach up to 14 contact hours of Spanish courses, as well as potential additional courses related to the applicant's area of professional expertise

· Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellence in teaching and possess the ability to effectively interact with a diverse student and employee population

· Hold reliable, appropriate office hours

· Take part as needed in advising/mentoring students, developing curricula, recruiting students, and attending division and faculty meetings

Salary is determined by a candidate’s rank at SUNY Sullivan, based on teaching experience, education, and other criteria. The full salary range is $655 to $740 per contact hour/course credit, per semester. Part-time, external adjunct faculty are not eligible to participate in a bargaining unit and employment with SUNY Sullivan is considered at will.
