What are the responsibilities and job description for the CT Technologist position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
Offering an exciting opportunity to join our Radiology Department in an outpatient setting with responsibilities in CT and General Radiography.
- Under the supervision of administrator and staff accurately reads and interprets physicians scanning instructions, protocols, administration of contrast materials. Explains procedures to patients, answering any questions or concerns
- Operates CT equipment by setting controls and making any required adjustments to procure required images.
- Solves problems as they arise during patient exams.
- Performs and positions patients for x-ray exams and CT exams according to the departmental standard procedures. Practices radiation safety to both the patient and co-workers.
- Performs QA and other job related duties such as cleaning and re-stocking of the area.
- Follows departmental policies/procedure, HIPPA, DNV and NYS requirements.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Radiology operating systems such as PACS, EMR, RIS and reports any malfunctioning of the equipment and notifies appropriate person.
Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:Associates Degree in Medical Radiography and License and Registration (ARRT) required. May need additional certification, depending on specialty. Two years experience as a Medical Radiology Technologist. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
Preferred Qualifications:Prefer two years of CT experience
Work Days:Monday - Friday 8 AM to 430 PM, possible Saturdays & OT
