What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histotechnologist 3 position at SUNY Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary:
Will function as a technologist mainly in Histology and may rotate in other areas of the laboratory performing patient care testing as needed. Perform duties that may include; running various laboratory instrumentation, performing manual testing, specimen receiving and processing; computer related duties such as patient entry, test request entry/requisition format, quality control, reagent preparation, following general laboratory and safety procedures including universal precautions and chemical and biochemical hazard precautions.
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Histo Technician, Clinical lab Technician. *Candidates with less than 2 years clinical lab experience or with a NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary. Must be able to distinguish colors for the purposes of performing laboratory tests.
