Job Summary:
Perform semi-skilled professional maintenance work in a combination of two other trades related to HVAC and Electrical in the repair, maintenance, and construction of facilities and equipment. Duties include, but not limited to: assist Grade 12 Trades Generalist in Electric Shop as needed; will perform electrical maintenance on hospital and campus electrical systems and electrical utilization equipment; installation and repair of electrical systems under the supervision of a Journeyman Electrician; repair or replace malfunctioning switches, receptacles, install fixtures, motors, and other electrical equipment under supervision. Must have knowledge of theory, techniques, applicable standards and regulation codes, tools, materials, and equipment used in the assigned trades. Interact with customers and properly relay information to them. Person must be free from beard and facial hair that may interfere with the fit or seal of a mask respirator at the time of fit testing. Such a mask must be worn in order to comply with State & Federal Safety Health Codes. Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting. Ability to be able to stoop, bend, stretch, and stand for long periods of time. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights on scaffolds and platforms. Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. Must possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License.
Minimum Qualifications:
Two years of experience in maintenance work or mechanical work under the supervision of a skilled tradesman or completion of an appropriate two year technical school course.
