Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager assist the Store Director to oversee all aspects of store operations including store revenue and goals. They must use clear and consistent communication with customers, employees, and vendors. They are ultimately responsible for driving sales, achieving sales goals, training exceptional employees, payroll and focusing on succession planning and company growth. Additional responsibilities include overseeing the overall safety, supervision, training, mentoring and store scheduling, as well as any other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
- Works safely at all times and follows all established safety guidelines and procedures
- Manage and execute the development of the store employees by providing in-the-moment coaching training and feedback; actively facilitate the growth and career path of those employees
- Instills teamwork and collaboration within leadership team and among employees
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements related to meal periods, rest breaks, and other wage and hour guidelines
- Achieve and maintain shrink and audit goals through execution of Company programs and maintenance of store controls
- Maintain the safety and security of the employees, customers, and Company assets
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills and help employees resolve custustomer concerns
- Manage and execute the development of the store employees by providing in-the-moment coaching training and feedback
- Instills teamwork and collaboration within leadership team and among employees
- Serve as Manager-On-Duty (MOD) to maintain service levels through adequate staffing throughout store, ensure completion of daily tasks, and address store performance opportunities
- Provide a high level of visibility on sales floor ensuring team is aware of daily goals and responsibilities
- Work mainly closing shifts
- Performs other duties assigned by managers
Physical Job Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout all areas of the store; sales floor, receiving, register areas, including the outside perimeter of the store
- Move objects up to and exceeding 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations
- Stand and/or sit continuously and perform job functions for a full shift with meal break
- Ability to use a PC or laptop for an extended period of time
- Ability to travel between stores and corporate office
- Physically able to stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, and climb
- Willing and able to transfer to any store within a 50 mile radius to accommodate business needs
