Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to understand the welding requirements.
- Perform fit up of metal components and structures, ensuring precise alignment and spacing.
- Measure parts using various tools (e.g., calipers, tape measures) to guarantee compliance with specifications.
- Prepare, clean, and position parts for welding, ensuring maximum stability during the process.
- Conduct visual inspections of weld quality and fit up accuracy, making adjustments as necessary.
- Operate welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) to complete welds according to industry standards.
- Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety protocols and standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding is a plus.
- Proven experience as a fit up welder or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of welding techniques, processes, and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately.
- Proficient in measuring and inspection techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in workmanship.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
