JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Client is seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and AWS Database Services. This role involves database creation, installation, configuration, performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and security management in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. You will also play a key role in server management, system backups, disaster recovery, and IT support while working with cutting-edge technologies and industry-leading tools.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, configure, and maintain Oracle and PostgreSQL databases on Red Hat Linux systems.
Set database parameters and optimize performance through capacity planning, monitoring, and tuning.
Perform database migrations and ensure seamless data integration across environments.
Troubleshoot database performance issues, fine-tune SQL queries, and resolve bottlenecks.
Implement backup and recovery strategies, including replication for failover and disaster recovery.
Support basic IT functions, including password resets, hardware diagnostics, and peripheral configurations.
Assist in network configuration and ensure database security by implementing best practices.
Write and optimize SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures.
Work with Dell and Cisco products, LoadRunner, VMware, Rational software, DOORS, and Java-based applications.
Ensure compliance with security policies and mitigate system vulnerabilities.
Travel as needed and provide off-hours support at client sites.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
10 years of experience in database administration and system support.
Expertise in Oracle DBMS, Oracle RAC, Oracle GoldenGate, and PostgreSQL.
Strong command of SQL, PL/SQL, and database performance tuning techniques.
Experience with AWS Database Services (RDS, Aurora).
Familiarity with Red Hat Linux (Red Hat 7 ) and network fundamentals.
Knowledge of materialized views, database security, and system vulnerabilities.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Cloud experience and relevant AWS certifications.
Experience with high-availability architectures and disaster recovery planning
