Super Vacuum Manufacturing Company is an established, locally owned, family business, classified as an essential business that manufactures fire equipment and emergency vehicles that help our communities save lives. We are looking for a team-focused Cost Accountant to join our team.
Position Overview: Analyze and track production costs by examining expenses related to materials, labor, and overhead, identify areas for cost reduction, make informed pricing decisions, and provide management with crucial data regarding the true cost of producing goods or services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular analysis of manufacturing product costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead expenses.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting.
- Analyze variances between budgeted costs and actual costs, investigating discrepancies and recommending corrective actions as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and accuracy, including raw materials and finished goods.
- Examine bills of materials for accuracy in ERP system.
- Participate in inventory management activities, including valuation, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, purchasing, and finance, to gather relevant cost data and insights.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and budgeting analyses to senior accounting manager.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations related to cost accounting.
Preferred or Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment of a multi-divisional business.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and cost accounting methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting ERP software (Syteline preferred).
- Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fun environment.

Compensation: $79,000 - $83,000/year DOE
Work Location: On-site in Fort Collins, CO
Job Type: Full-time, Exempt, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
Candidate must be drug free, work in person, be able to contribute in a fast paced/team atmosphere and pass a criminal background check.
