SVI Trucks builds custom fire apparatus, including rescue trucks, hazmat units, command vehicles, fire engines, tanker trucks, law enforcement vehicles and more. Every truck that leaves the factory is truly one-of-a-kind thanks to innovative engineering and meticulous construction.
We are looking for an energetic, self-starting Fire Apparatus Assembler for our Trucks division. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a trusted, well respected, family-owned business that is continually expanding.

As a Fire Apparatus Assembler, you will be responsible for cleaning and refurbishing the interior and exterior of new and refurbished fire trucks while keeping company goals and customer satisfaction in mind.
The Fire Apparatus Assembler may be required to perform work inside and outside, in all temperature and weather situations. The position requires frequent sitting, standing, balancing, bending, or stooping for prolonged periods of time, manual dexterity, fine manipulation and the ability to reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 50 pounds max. Use of ladders and rolling staircases included in equipment to complete job duties.
Essential Functions:
· Operate basic hand and power tools.
· Accurately read and interpret a measuring tape.
· Installation and assembly of truck components like bumpers, doors, trays and shelves.
· Follow written assembly instructions, drawings, and blueprints. With knowledge of fraction to decimal conversions.
· Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
· Strong mechanical aptitude.
· Some knowledge of heavy/medium duty Truck layout and builds.
· Able to obtain a Forklift operator’s license.
· Able to contribute in a fast paced/team atmosphere.
· Able to problem solve.
· Learn and apply valuable skills and gain useful knowledge.
· Pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical agility test and criminal background check.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· Must be able to climb ladders.
· Must be able to follow directions and pay attention to detail.

Additional skills and experience that will be considered:
· At least one year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Residential/Commercial construction experience.
· Previous experience in customization of both automotive and heavy-duty vehicles regarding the body, chassis or cab interior.
· Understanding of low- and high-pressure air systems.
· Knowledge or understanding of water pump plumbing.
· Experience with automotive 12V wiring.
· Understanding of RV or residential plumbing.
· Experience with 120/240V electrical wiring.
· RV repair or manufacturing.

Compensation: $18.00-$25.00/Hour DOE
Job Type: Full-time, Hourly, Non-Exempt, Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm (6:00am-3:30pm and possible Saturday overtime)
