What are the responsibilities and job description for the Post Harvest Technician position at Superb Cannabis Co.?

Job Summary:

As a Post Harvest Technician, you will be responsible for the post harvest and maintenance of marijuana plants in a regulated and controlled environment. You will work closely with a team of professionals to ensure the successful growth, development, and harvesting of high-quality cannabis plants. This includes following specific cultivation protocols, routinely cleaning grow rooms and the facility, and maintaining compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

The Post Harvest Technician is responsible for a variety of different tasks that prepare the product for the next phase of processing.

Harvest Staff is responsible for the following:

Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity

Maintain a culture of professionalism

Confirm that each plant is tagged, that the tag has the appropriate information, and is marked with the designated number

Follow standard operating procedures including but not limited to: methods of trimming, proper sequencing and tools, proper handling of plants, product, and waste materials

Other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to assisting other departments to help facilitate the additional and/or supplemental work such as post trim, harvesting, packaging, farm, cure, cleaning, and light maintenance as needed throughout the facility

Ensure organization and cleanliness of immediate work stations

Ensure the organization and cleanliness of the Trim production area

Contribute to daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning and general maintenance

Perform regular cleaning and maintenance on work surfaces, tools, and related equipment (scissors, tubs, tables, floors etc.)

Ensure that workflow and work procedures are followed

Ensure compliance with all Local, State, and Federal regulations

Adhere to all work safety requirements including, but not limited to: lifting, bending, etc

Ensure cleanliness of all areas in the garden

Maintain a positive attitude that creates a positive work environment

Wear protective clothing, hairnets, and beard nets when working with plants, and product

Before exiting the facility remove protective clothing and ensure that there is no cannabis on your person

Works under the direct supervision of the Director of Cultivation and Director of Operations

Regular attendance and punctuality, as well as reliability to contribute to achieving production goals

Focus and dedication to the task at hand

Work schedule is Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Able to lift and move up to 35 pounds occasionally

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must be 21 or older to apply per Michigan State regulations to work in adult-use cannabis.
  • Experience in manufacturing, gardening, horticulture, botany, or related fields is a plus.
  • Experience doing piece work manufacturing.
  • Enjoy challenging yourself to improve accuracy and speed while doing repetitive tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment and adapt to changing priorities and tasks.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, quotas and expectations.
  • Bend, lift, carry and reach frequently throughout day.
  • Lift and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • 80-90% of the time will be physical labor.
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check. (No felonies)
  • Wear required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to prevent contamination and always abide by personal hygiene standards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
