Job Responsibilities :
Principal Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing projects that create and implement new GIS (Geographic information Systems) processes to support Transmission and Large Pipeline business units.
This role will involve working closely with various business units stakeholders and technical teams to ensure that GIS processes are effectively integrated and optimized for operational excellence.
Lead and manage Large Pipeline related GIS projects from initiation to completion ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
Collaborate with Transmission and Large Pipeline Operating business units to understand their data requirements and operational needs.
Develop and implement new GIS processes to support the integration and management of Transmission and Large Pipeline data.
Coordinate with cross functional teams including IT engineering and operations to ensure seamless incorporation of GIS processes.
Create detailed project plans including timelines milestones resource allocation and risk management strategies.
Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to stakeholders highlighting any issues or changes in scope.
Facilitate training sessions and workshops for endusers to ensure effective utilization of new GIS processes and tools.
Stay current with industry trends technologies and best practices in GIS and pipeline operations.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to GIS data management and pipeline operations.
Requirements :
Bachelors or Masters degree
Professional engineering (PE) certification
A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management with a focus on Utility or Pipeline.
Proven track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.
Experience working with Transmission and Large Pipeline data and operations is highly desirable.
Excellent analytical problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment.
