Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Sprinkler Backflow and Fire Extinguisher Inspector to join our team. The Inspector will be responsible for inspecting, testing, and maintaining Fire Sprinkler Systems, Backflows and fire extinguishers to ensure compliance with safety codes and regulations. The ideal candidate should have strong technical skills, knowledge of sprinkler systems, NICET Level II Certified, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and security of building occupants.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and tests of sprinkler systems, including visual inspections, functional testing, and sensitivity testing.
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of fire sprinkler equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues with sprinkler systems and recommend repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Verify and document system functionality and ensure compliance with NFPA codes and local regulations.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintenance records for documentation purposes.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to building owners, property managers, and relevant stakeholders.
- Coordinate with contractors and technicians to schedule repairs and installations.
- Provide training and support to building personnel on the proper operation of sprinkler systems.
- Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and technological advancements related to fire sprinkler systems.
- Inspect and test fire extinguishers and fire suppression systems according to manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and recharging of fire extinguishers as necessary.
- Conduct hydrostatic testing and refilling of extinguishers as required.
- Install and replace fire extinguishers and fire suppression equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Keep accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs performed.
- Provide recommendations for upgrades or replacements of fire protection equipment as needed.
- Educate customers on fire safety practices and proper use of fire extinguishers.
- Respond to service calls and emergency situations promptly and professionally.
- Maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed for servicing fire extinguishers.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certifications in fire alarm systems preferred.
- Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Technician, Fire Alarm Inspector, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, testing, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with NFPA codes and standards, as well as local fire codes and regulations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and documentation abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
