Job Title: Agronomy Intern

The Agronomy Intern will assist crop consultants, salespersons, and location managers in the administration of crop management programs, the development of customer relationships, day-to-day operations, and special projects or assignments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor assigned customer crops daily for crop condition and pests.
• Interact directly with customers explaining crop diagnosis and solutions in a manner that is clear to the customer and accurate.
• Conduct pre-application inspections of customer's fields and crops for pesticide and fungicides application recommendations on behalf of the cooperative.
• Use GPS tracking systems and computer software for identifying and recording field pest locations, and crop management information.
• Assist in seed sales and marketing programs, which include the development of the cooperative's seed demonstration plots and customer informational meetings.
• Respond to assigned customer complaints on behalf of the cooperative's agronomy management.
• Work closely with the cooperative's crops and integrated pest management teams in the development and maintenance of all agronomy programs.
• Assists with record keeping and office support assignments.
• Attend recommended crops diagnostic workshops.
• Complete a project established between the intern and their supervisor, and present the completed project to the management team of the sponsoring cooperative at the completion of the internship period.

Requirements:

• Full-time registered student majoring in an agricultural discipline.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Meet work eligibility requirements of the Immigration and Naturalization Service and be a permanent resident of the USA.
• Valid driver's license.
• Capable of performing the essential functions and duties outlined in the job description.
• Favorable background check results.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
