Responsibilities:
The assistant dispatcher is responsible for assisting dispatcher, overseeing and maintaining the status’ of assigned fleet, giving out appropriate ETA’s, act as support staff to drivers and to customer service representatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Give appropriate ETA’s while accounting for type and level of response, traffic patterns, and weather conditions
- Prioritize request for ambulance service
- Communicate issues to marketing, management, and customers as necessary
- Provide EMT’s and Paramedics with directions as necessary
- Maintain appropriate status of crews at all times
- Assist in receiving and entering in request for ambulance or medicar service as necessary
- Communicate patient diversions and keep all appropriate associated records
- Maintain status records and give appropriate ETA’s for Critical Care Transport as necessary
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of the Ohio service area
- 1-3 years dispatch experience
- Working knowledge of CAD system
- Map reading skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Multi-tasking ability
- Effective communication skills
- Previous EMS knowledge required
- Familiarity with Systems Status Management
