Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Child Care Center Director to lead our team in providing a nurturing and educational environment for children. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a commitment to early childhood education, and the ability to foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff. This role is crucial in ensuring that our center meets the highest standards of quality child care.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the child care center, ensuring compliance with Utah Child Care Licensing regulations and company policies and procedures.
- Work schedule is (3) 10 hour days working in the center and an additional 10 hours per week designated to clerical work, management, staff training, etc.
- Display a warm and nurturing character that supports the applicant’s ability to connect with young children and their families.
- Implement care that promote children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
- Hire, train, and supervise staff members, providing ongoing professional development opportunities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for children, families, and staff.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child's progress and center activities.
- Collaborate with company owner and other directors to implement cohesive lines of communication.
- Manage supplies and resources effectively to ensure a well-run facility.
- Develop connections with the children in our care.
- Facilitate and engage in free play.
- Document and communicate effectively with parents daily in: sleeping, diapering, eating, and activities of each child.
- Help children keep good hygiene; assists in hand washing and diaper changing.
- Show dedication to the social, emotional and character development of each child.
- Prepare meals and snacks and organizes mealtimes for children.
- Assist in daily cleaning of the center classrooms.
- Follow all licensing policies, Department of Health procedures and fire regulations.
Experience
- A degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working with young children in an educational setting is essential.
- Previous experience in early childhood education or administration is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and staff members.
