Job Summary: As a Preschool Teacher, you will be responsible for the educational and emotional development of children in a preschool setting. Your role involves creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where young children can learn and grow socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically.
Responsibilities:
- Lesson Plans: Create and implement weekly lesson plans covering all required early learning guidelines.
- Instruction: Conduct age-appropriate activities and lessons using various teaching methods (e.g., storytelling, hands-on activities, group projects) to engage children and encourage active learning.
- Child Assessment: Assess each child's developmental progress and maintain records of their growth and achievements.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain a structured and positive classroom environment that supports learning and encourages respect among children.
- Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress, behavior, and development, and participate in parent-teacher conferences as needed.
- Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by following health and safety guidelines, supervising children at all times, and maintaining a clean and organized classroom.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with early childhood education trends, research, and best practices.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other preschool teachers and staff members to plan and coordinate activities, share resources, and support each other in providing high-quality education and care.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
- Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children in a childcare or educational setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development theories and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with young children, parents, and colleagues.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit on the floor, bend, stoop, and lift up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Typically work indoors in a preschool or childcare center.
- May involve standing or moving around for extended periods.
