Role
This position is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining a solid network of business relationships that provides a continuous source of referrals for new mortgage lending opportunities. This network may consist of Real Estate professionals, builders / contractors, business development opportunities and community resources. To assist members with their mortgage lending needs : analyze loan requests and make recommendations to underwriter to assist with the credit decisions based on mortgage lending policy.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Markets the Credit Union’s mortgage lending program to companies and individuals within the real estate community.
- Interviews applicants and determines the mortgage product that best fits the members’ needs while following the credit union policies and procedures and the mortgage regulations.
- Analyzes supporting documentation supplied by the member (pay stubs, W2s, tax returns, real estate taxes, insurance, etc.) Obtains credit files and LP feedback certificate and reviews to determine credit quality and provides recommendation to the underwriters for a decision.
- Origination will work closely with the Mortgage Processors and Underwriters to ensure completion of the loan.
- Cross-sells other Credit Union services.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to use office technology such as a computer, internet, email, and other office related software
- Ability to work in an office environment for at least 8 hours per day
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Performance Measurements
Knowledge & Skills
Experience Two years to five years of similar or related experience
Education (1) a two-year college degree or (2) completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or (3) completion of a specialized and extensive in -house training or apprenticeship program.
Interpersonal Skills A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in additional to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and / or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and / or individuals) becomes necessary.
Other Skills Must have good communication skills; 10-key calculator and keyboard skills required.
