Oversees insurance claims for personal, property, or casualty loss based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage. Ensures complete and sound claim settlements, legal reviews and investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent regularly sits for long periods of time at a desk in front of a computer screen.
The employee occasionally may be required to lift, push, pull or carry objects; typically, when filing is needed.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time exempt position. This position may require long hours, and weekend work.
Travel
The role will require minimal travel.

Job Description
Oversees insurance claims for personal, property, or casualty loss based on coverage, appraisal, and verifiable damage. Ensures complete and sound claim settlements, legal reviews and investigations in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Investigate workers’ compensation, vehicle collision, and jobsite damage claims to ensure prompt reporting, minimize losses and close claims in a timely manner.
- Coordinate on-site audits and other information requested by company insurance providers. Update insurance carrier and self-pay databases.
- Follows up periodically throughout the cycle of a claim to ensure fast processing of payment and closure.
- Create new systems and databases as needed.
- Participate In quarterly claim reviews
- Identify and report patterns and trends based on claims reported across all policies.
- Prepare claim reports for management’s review and other presentations.
- Lead and develop other employees on claims management
- Performing a Risk Assessment on current and potential risks
- Risk Reporting to board of directors and relevant department leadership
- Implementing, or aiding in the implementation of health and safety measures by providing data from insurance activity.
- Assist with the purchasing of insurance and renewal process.
- Maintaining records of insurance policies and claims
- Conducting policy and compliance audits
- Providing risk awareness trainings within the company

Required Education And Experience
- Bachelor's or Masters in business, negotiation or related field
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience with insurance or underwriting/risk management included or combined
- Experience in claims management a plus
- Construction industry experience preferred
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
