ABOUT THE COURT
Los Angeles Superior Court is the largest unified trial court in the United States. Its 580 judges and commissioners work in one of the 36 facilities within the Court's 12 judicial districts and are supported by more than 4,800 full-time Court employees. The Court has an annual budget of more than $1 billion. ABOUT THE POSITION
Principal Financial Analysts supervise professional and technical staff and are responsible for analyzing and making recommendations for the solution of highly complex financial, administrative, and organizational problems. Incumbents conduct and carry out highly complex analyses and studies on a wide range of financial, budgetary, and other organizational issues in support of the planning and execution of Court goals and objectives. Incumbents are expected to define and apply appropriate study methodologies, utilize sound analytical tools and techniques, and apply accepted project planning and management practices on large-scale projects to ensure timely achievement of study goals and objectives. TELEWORK OPPORTUNITIES
This position may be eligible for partial telework following an initial training period contingent upon the Court's needs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To qualify, you must meet one of the following options at the time of application:
OPTION I: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in public or business administration, public policy, economics, finance, or a closely related field – AND – three (3) years of progressively responsible experience involving financial management analysis, economic forecasting, financial planning and/or implementation, or governmental budget and finance analysis.
OPTION II: Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience involving financial management analysis, economic forecasting, financial planning and/or implementation, or governmental budget and finance analysis – AND – additional four (4) years of recent experience providing complex analytical work in support of accounting, financial, statistical, contract, budget, or other management analyses.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess the following desirable qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a public agency, including government accounting and experience using accounting systems.
- Knowledge of Court financial accounting and statutory requirements.
- Knowledge of Court and State financial and budget policies, practices, and procedures.
- Experience utilizing data analytics in support of financial planning, budgeting and/or management analysis.
- Experience with Excel, SharePoint, SAP, Oracle, Access, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Visual Basic and/or any financial management systems.
- Strong budgeting, financial reporting, and accounts reconciliation experience.
- Experience with business process re-engineering.
- Excellent communication skills; oral and written, with all levels of staff, including external departments and outside agencies.
- Ability to manage multiple high priority assignments and meet deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, accuracy, and precision.
