We have an opportunity for a Help Desk Specialist I. This position will be located in the Riverside Self Help Center and will provide support countywide. We are seeking a customer service-oriented individual who will respond, evaluate, and prioritize incoming telephone, voicemail, e-mail, and help desk requests for assistance from customers experiencing problems with hardware, software, networking, other computer related technologies, equipment and/or facility matters. This position also has potential for teleworking.
The ideal candidate will possess one of the following options:
Option I:
Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a closely related field and one year of experience that includes providing computer or network systems support OR experience providing first tier technical level support in a help desk role.
Option II:
High school diploma or equivalent and three years of experience that includes providing computer or network systems support OR experience providing first tier technical level support in a help desk role.

Selection Procedures:

Step IV: Those candidates that are successful in the previous step may be invited to an oral interview. Those candidates who are successful in the interview (weighted 100%) may be placed on the eligible list. Placement on the eligible list is not a guarantee of employment.
Additional steps for the selection process will include a drug test, background and reference checks.
