Under general supervision, performs various complex and responsible duties in coordinating court-wide interpreter and court reporter services providing courtroom support, including scheduling of daily assignments of court reporters, Spanish and Other-Than- Spanish interpreters.This position assists the Division in various tasks related to ensuring coordination of court reporters and court interpreters. Performs coordination of staff and assists in county-wide coordination and assignment duties, providing court assignments for court reporters and interpreters. Incumbents are responsible for maintaining pools of certified/registered staff, monitoring availability, and responding to requests on a planned and emergency basis. Responsibilities also include locating and coordinating qualified court interpreters and court reporters, assigning full-time interpreters and court reporters and Independent Contractors. Duties require a broad knowledge of court procedures and requirements, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to react quickly and resourcefully. Incumbents are expected to exercise sound independent judgment and discretion in carrying out their responsibilities within the framework of legal, policy, and procedural requirements and maintain highly effective working relationships with judicial officers and courtroom staff.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following: Coordinates professional interpreting and court reporting services to support the activities of the Court by locating, contracting, and assigning interpreters and court reporters. Coordinates the interpreter's and court reporter's schedules. Receives and responds to needs for long-distance interpreting services.Assists in the daily operations of the organization; answers incoming calls and provides information to bailiffs, interpreters, court staff, and the public.Monitors case status makes outgoing calls to other departments to check on the status of interpreter and court reporter cases; corresponds with Regional Coordinators to determine availability of other interpreters.Reviews the case management system to clarify any information that may be unclear regarding the need for an interpreter or court reporter.Prepares assignments considering various factors such as type of assignment, location, and duration of the assignment to avoid court delays, monitors availability and updates records. Creates and distributes daily schedules and assigns contract reporters and interpreters as needed.Responds to incoming phone requests/e-mails for interpreter services and court reporters and keeps courts informed of availability; adjusts schedules to accommodate special trials or events.Performs a variety of administrative duties to support division functions; composes correspondence; creates and maintains databases of records and other information. Performs periodic backup and relief for other desks and clerical staff, as assigned.Consults with other divisions, units, and outside agencies on matters affecting interpreters and reporters' operations. Uses the court automated case management systems utilizing file records research methods and techniques. Performs general clerical tasks, which may include answering phone calls, making copies, sending/receiving faxes, or processing incoming/outgoing mail.Reviews and prepares contract employee invoices for management approval.Prepares contracts for court interpreters and court reporters and policies for the manager to review.Answers questions from contract interpreters and reporters regarding policy, procedures, contracts, rules, and assignments.Helps other employees or departments as needed; performs other duties as assigned.
