Qualifying evaluation of experience and certification based upon submitted application materials and supplemental questionnaire. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements will be placed on an eligible list which will remain valid for up to six (6) months and may be invited to participate in an oral interview.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and Inspire a Team of Expert Court Interpreters – Guide a talented team of interpreters, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence in courtroom language services.
- Strategically Deploy Language Experts – Manage scheduling and assignments to ensure interpreters are placed where the needs of the court are greatest, keeping courtroom operations running smoothly.
- Champion Interpreter Development – Conduct training and provide mentorship to build a highly skilled interpreting workforce, enhancing accuracy and efficiency in legal proceedings.
- Optimize Courtroom Communication – Monitor language needs in real-time and assign interpreters throughout the day to ensure seamless, high-quality language access for all court users.
- Be a Trusted Policy Leader – Shape and implement interpreter service policies that uphold fairness, efficiency, and accessibility in legal settings.
- Act as a Liaison Between Courts and Language Experts – Serve as the critical link between court administration and interpreters, ensuring alignment in service expectations and courtroom needs.

To qualify, you must meet the following selection requirements at the time of application:
- A current, valid certificate as a certified or registered Court Interpreter issued by the Judicial Council of California on behalf of the State of California; -AND-
- Three (3) years of full-time interpreting in a legal environment, one (1) year of which must have been in a State and/or Federal Court
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience supervising a team, preferably for a public entity
- Familiarity and understanding of daily court operations, policies, and procedures
- Ability to handle conflict with tact and diplomacy
- Experience working in a confidential environment handling sensitive information
- Comfortable to proficient with computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook; and comfortable with learning new systems
- Knowledge of California Trial Court Act and other applicable laws
