SCHEDULE
This onsite position offers part-time hours (6 hour per day, 5 days per week) with flexibility to support the end and beginning of the school year.

Whether you’re interested in a legal career or simply want to develop workplace skills while learning about the administration of justice, the Orange County Superior Court Operations Internship Program is the perfect opportunity!
This three-month paid internship program offers a unique opportunity to understand the dynamic world of court operations. Interns will gain practical hands-on work experience while participating in exclusive activities to learn of the inner workings of the justice system. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of the essential components that ensure a courthouse runs efficiently, from public services at our counters to the intricacies of courtroom hearings. Participants will have the opportunity to engage with court executives and judicial officers while learning directly from experienced court staff. This internship offers invaluable insight to diverse career paths within court administration, while enhancing your resume and professional network!
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
To be considered for the Court Operations Internship Program, candidates must:
- Be currently enrolled full-time at an accredited college or university in any major and have a college GPA of 3.0 or higher, -OR- be a recent graduate within the last year with a college GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Attach a copy of your most recent transcript(s) (an unofficial copy is acceptable).
- Possession of or ability to obtain a California driver's license by date of appointment.

SELECTION PROCESS
STEP 1: Applications will be reviewed by Human Resources to identify candidates who meet the minimum qualifications and/or desirables. It is to your benefit to include all current and previous related work experience. When listing Court experience, please include dates and classification of each position held, if more than one. Only those who meet the minimum qualifications and desirables (if applicable) will proceed to the next step in the recruitment process.
STEP 2: Candidates will be required to provide a copy of a recent transcript (e.g., within the last six (6) months as part of the recruitment process). Those candidates passing the transcript review and an oral exam will be referred to step 3 in the selection process.
STEP 3: Candidates who are successful in step 2 will be placed on the eligible list and may be considered for interview. Placement on the eligible list does not guarantee an interview or employment.
All candidates will be notified via email of their status at each step of the process. Additional steps in the selection process will include a local background check and a reference check.
BACKGROUND CHECK
A thorough background check will be conducted, including but not limited to work experience, education, certifications, driving record, criminal record, litigation judgment or verdict, and financial/credit information. Fingerprints of candidates are also taken as part of our background check process.
